Sadly, the Coronavirus has many of us on edge. From dealing with a new health threat, to concerns about food and personal supplies shortage, to quarantine, and more; many of us can’t help but feel a sense of uncertainty about what the near future holds.
But for some of us, this isn’t a new feeling is it?
Because just as the Coronavirus has sprung up new fears and concerns within us, so does some more common, simpler issues; like stepping out of your comfort zone.

Stepping out of your comfort zone, away from the normal repetitiveness of life, also has a way of raising fear and concern. Granted the threat is not the same as it is with the Coronavirus; but there’s still a lot of worry and anxiousness.
It’s not a fun feeling to say the least.
Uncertainty, whether it’s dealing with the near future or the distant future, can be scary. Because we are people that like to be in control. We like to know exactly what’s coming, so that we can know exactly how to prepare for it.
But uncertainty, strips us of control.
At least that’s how it appears.
But appearances can be deceiving. Because even though we may not be in complete control of the situation, or what’s to come.; we aren’t completely without power. There are some steps we can take, to ensure the best outcome; in both scenarios!
Choose Faith Over Fear
Fear is that feeling you get, when you sense danger. It doesn’t matter if it’s a real threat or an imagined threat, fear always shows up, when a threat presents itself.
But the thing about fear is, it only sees one outcome. The negative version.
Fear is always there to inform you of exactly what can go wrong, why something’s not a good idea, why the worst scenario will most likely happen to you, and how devastated you’ll be when it does.
Fear can stop you dead in your tracks; and it will definitely keep you off of the path of hope and positivity.
But there is a counter option to fear.
It’s faith!
Faith, sees the threat; recognizes the severity of the threat, and still chooses to believe for the best outcome.
And faith, always points you in the direction of positivity.
Unlike fear, faith is not a mere feeling; faith is action. Faith always leads you to take the necessary steps to grow, expand, preserve, and prepare for the future. Faith is forward movement.
And the thing about faith is, you can choose to walk in it, even when you feel fear, and the more you walk in it, the weaker those fearful feelings become.
Set Yourself Up for Success
For the rare few, success just sort of happens. I mean, it practically falls into their lap. But for the majority of us, this will not be the case. If we want good outcomes in any area of our lives, or in any particular circumstance, we are going to need to set ourselves up for success.
So, what are some ways we can set ourselves up for success?
- Have a clear goal and vision in mind. Being clear on the end goal, will keep you from floundering around with no real destination point, and no real way to measure your progress.
But I’m sure you’ve also learned by now that nothing stays bad forever.
Prepare, prepare, prepare! Did I say prepare? The fact is, the more prepared you are for anything, the more confident you will feel.
- Educate yourself. Because the more knowledge you have on a subject, the better equipped you will be.
- Be flexible. Challenges, hardships, and setbacks will arise. Be a person who can adjust, and quickly get back on track.
Keep Making Right and Wise Choices
I’m sure you’ve learned by now that nothing ever goes perfectly. The unexpected always arises; and it’s rarely ever pleasant. When this happens, we’re either tempted to shrink back or stop completely.

When things seem topsy turvy, just keep making right and wise decisions. At some point, things will turn around, and because you kept making right and wise decisions, you’ll be the better for it.
Whether you’re dealing with the coronavirus, stepping out of your comfort zone, or any other anxiety raising situation; remember that you are not completely out of control. Choose faith over fear, set your self up for success, and keep making those right and wise choices.
There is so much uncertainty right now. If my husband was retired, I would escape to a deserted island

a lot of times we are afraid to take on decisions because we are afraid of the consequences. but, if it is the right thing to do, do not be overwhelmed by fear. this too shall pass. just keep your faith strong – that there is a bright side on the decision made.
